
Margo Livesay
Ph.D. Computer Science; 21 years patent legal experience; 12 years as a college professor in Computer Science. Margo Livesay earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science, taught as a professor, earned her law degree and has subsequently focused her entire legal career on patent prosecution of computer software technologies. She earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Texas in 1982 and her J.D. from the University of Texas in 1985. Following graduation from law school, Margo worked as a computer science professor at the University of North Texas, Bradley University and Harden-Simmons University for 12 years. In 1997, Margo began practicing patent law with Oblon, Spivak, McClelland, Maier, & Neustad and other large law firms until opening her own patent prosecution law firm in 2008 in the DC area. She joined Sprinkle IP Law Group in 2016 and combines her extensive knowledge of computer science with her 20 years of patent prosecution experience to provide clients with top-notch technical and patent prosecution capabilities. Margo has deep patent prosecution experience with all types of software-related patent applications and has prosecuted those applications both in the United States and abroad. She is licensed to practice in Texas, the District of Columbia and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
